I am a Data Scientist, and former Quantitative and experimental marine ecologist. During my Ph.D and postdoctoral fellowships, my research focused on population and community level ecology, typically in shallow ocean ecosystems. I investigated how combinations of ecological processes, occurring on disparate spatial and temporal scales, interact to influence population dynamics, and ultimately species abundance, distribution and organization. My methods included a blend of small-scale field and laboratory experiments, larger-scale empirical data collection and analysis, and mathematical models in an effort to comprehensively investigate local and regional ecological patterns in a variety of marine systems.

Currently, as a Data Science Fellow at Insight Data Science in Boston, MA, I'm engineering a tool that utilizes image data, machine learning, and color theory to help colorblind people choose matching clothes when getting dressed.... I'm also colorblind, so although this work has been quite a change, it has also been quite useful.
